Sonora Reyes is a queer, second-generation Mexican American author hailing from Arizona. They made a significant impact with their debut novel, The Lesbiana’s Guide to Catholic School, which became a National Book Award finalist. Reyes’s work often explores themes of identity, belonging, and the challenges faced by marginalized communities.
Identifying as autistic, Reyes brings a unique and authentic voice to their storytelling. They are also the creator of #QPOCChat, a monthly Twitter chat aimed at building community among queer writers of color. Outside of writing, Reyes enjoys dancing, singing karaoke, and spending time with their family and beloved dogs.
